"This quilted wall-hanging is a perfect commemoration of the King’s Coronation.

Made using a combination of patchwork and appliqué, this quilt will become an heirloom piece and could be used to celebrate future jubilees too.

The quilt top in this set of instructions is made in three sections: the Crown section, the Union Flag section and the Bunting section. Each element can be used and enjoyed in other projects - I can't wait to see what you all create with these."

You will need:

  • 1m background fabric in light grey or pale blue
  • 0.5m navy fabric (for binding and bunting string)
  • 1 Long Quarter deep yellow/gold fabric (for crown and bunting)
  • 1 Long Quarter deep purple fabric (for crown)
  • 1 Long Quarter white fabric (for crown and flag)
  • 1 Long Quarter bright red fabric (for flag and bunting)
  • 1 Fat Eighth royal blue fabric (for flag and bunting)
  • 1 Fat Eighth black fabric (for crown)
  • 1 Fat Eighth dark red fabric (for lettering)
  • Fabric scraps, minimum 5” square in orange, bright yellow, green, turquoise, light purple (for bunting)
  • 0.5m Vlieseline Bondaweb or similar adhesive iron-on sheet for appliqué
  • 0.5m iron on interfacing
  • Fabric marker
  • Wadding: a minimum 30” x 45” piece
  • Backing fabric: 1.25m standard width
  • General sewing equipment

    Postage and packing for UK residents is a set fixed rate of £4.95 (unless your order is over £150, which qualifies you for FREE shipping). We will always use the most appropriate service to get your parcels delivered to you as safely as we can. 
    This does mean your orders may arrive through different couriers and when it is provided we will send you a tracking ID. 
    For European customers, the postage and packing fee is based on the size of your order and once again will be sent via the  most appropriate postal service at the time.
