"My eco tablet stand was the very first make I brought to air at Natasha Makes and has always been a winner, but recently I have been asked how to make the version that has a filled lip at the front.

I have seen people fill them with all kinds of things with various degrees of success, from wadding to bird cage grit, but as ever I stand by filling the eco way, with our organic buckwheat husks - they are just the right weight, no plastic and easy to use.

You can make these all from one cotton fabric, or why not use a contrast fabric?  I have used a PU base, so it wipes clean and a cotton top, but I have also made plenty from 100% cotton fabrics too." - Natasha

You will need:

  • Two pieces of fabric cut to 10" x 12.5"
  • Two pieces cut 2.5" x 8"
  • Organic buckwheat husks to fill, approximately 430g
  • An A4 sheet of paper and sellotape
  • General sewing equipment
