Natasha's Pay It Forward Project 13: Sew a Little Love Bug
SKU: NM_50_40006980
Project 13
Inspired by you, our viewers, Natasha launched her Pay it Forward initiative in 2021. Join our virtual 'club' of charity makers with a different subsidised make offered each month.
You will receive instructions and fabrics at an amazing price - all that we ask is that you make something in order to pass on joy in some way.
You could create an item using your kit and gift it to a local charity or use your kit to teach someone else to sew... If it brings or gifts joy to another, it fulfils the brief!
This month's project is Sew a Little Love Bug.
A five fat quarter project for absolute beginners! Moda Fabrics partnered with Creativity Shell to Sew Little Love Bugs to support Youth Mental Health and Arts Education.
The creativity shell is a nonprofit organisation that teaches classes such a sewing/textile art, cooking, building another creative trades to students in their private studios, libraries, schools, ABA therapy centres, the juvenile justice system as well as shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. All of their classes are designed to teach children essential life and practical skills.
In this months pay it forward bundle, you will receive five fat quarters of Moda fabrics, plus bias tape for feet. You will also receive a print out of Moda's free pattern that has information on how to donate to Creativity Shell, should you wish. We intend to make and sell our Love Bugs and to donate the money raised. Alternatively, why not make a Love Bug for someone you think may benefit? There is even space under the wings to tuck a little note.
Note: You will need to add fibre fill to your Love Bugs – or why not utilise your fabric offcuts and scraps that would otherwise end up in the bin?
Be sure to share your Love Bugs on our Community Makes page and on social media using #LoveBugs - #SewALittleLoveBug - #YouthMentalHeathAwareness.
This make will be demonstrated in the SEPTEMBER Pay It Forward show, which will go to air on Friday 30th September 2022.
